Eden Hazard: Sergio Ramos sends Chelsea ace message ahead of Real Madrid transfer

[ad_1]

On Friday night, Real Madrid announced they’ve agreed a deal to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer.

The Spanish giants will pay the Blues an initial £88million for the 28-year-old, though the fee will rise to a total of £130million after add-ons.

Hazard has been Chelsea’s star performer this season, scoring 21 goals and picking up 17 assists for Maurizio Sarri’s side last season and guiding them to Europa League glory.

Hazard’s arrival at the Bernabeu will significantly increase the firepower at the disposal of Real chief Zinedine Zidane, a long-term admirer of the Belgium international.

And Ramos is looking forward to playing alongside the former Lille man.

“He is coming to play with us, we were already here, right? I’m happy,” he said. “I think it’s a great signing. He is a world-class player. It is good to reinforce the squad.”

Hazard will be officially unveiled as a Real player on Thursday, so long as his medical goes off without a hitch.

Shortly after his departure was confirmed, Hazard issued a lengthy statement to Chelsea fans, an excerpt of which read: “To my Chelsea friends and family.

“You now know that I will be joining Real Madrid. It’s no secret that it was my dream to play for them since I was a young boy just scoring my first goal.

“I have tried my very best not to distract myself or the team through this difficult period of speculation and media attention, especially the last 6 months.

“Now the Clubs have reached an agreement I hope you understand I had to pursue my next chapter, just as each and every one of you should when you have the chance to pursue your dreams.

“Leaving Chelsea is the biggest and toughest decision in my career to date.

“Now it’s in the open I would like to put on record one thing was always clear to me, I have loved every moment at Chelsea and not once did I ever consider, nor would I have left for any other Club.”

Last month, it was reported Ramos was seeking a move away from the Spanish capital and informed Real president Florentio Perez of his desire to leave the club.

Ramos, 33, dispelled that notion by insisting he wants to end his career with Real and is happy to have put those rumours to bed.

“I had to go out to give the press conference. I think it was the best for everyone,” the World Cup and European Championship winner said. “The important thing was to turn the page and not talk about it anymore.

“The goal is achieved. I am very happy in Real Madrid and playing for the national team is not a relief but a source of pride.

“When you have been injured, you really value what you do not have. I live it as if it were the last time. It’s all very well.”
